My New (Non-Photogenic) Friend

FINALLY, I am going to start posting some of my photos from Estero Bay.  Not that anyone has been waiting with baited breath to see these pictures or anything, but the past few weeks with Tim leaving and then being deployed has left me extremely busy.  However, with the puggles sleeping at my side and getting comfy on the new couch (with recliners) I am getting busy with my photos.  Over the next few weeks I will post random pictures from the weekend, which I must say, we had a great time.  Hope you enjoy!!

The first post is going to be about my new friend.  When I saw this bird start to fly our way, I had no idea what it was.  We both thought at first in was a flamingo but after further search we found that it was a Roseate Spoonbill.  Yea, that is what we thought!!  What the....!!!  It's long, broad bill, bright pink wings and orange tail made it hard to miss for sure.  The only problem was it never came close to us.  We got one shot at it as it flew by us, at about 200 yards.  It made me a little sad because I can only imagine the beautiful pictures I would have gotten had he decided to come and say hi.  Oh well.  The following pictures are not great, I understand, but I did want to share my new friend with you.  Enjoy and stay tuned for some really awesome pictures!!!

MEGA CHALLENGE!!!

This is the big one!!  Because I won the challenge entitled "Up High or Down Low" I can participate in the mega challenge.  These are much more specific and they come with a large prize if you win.  Mainly more free prints, but that will be nice since we are moving into a new home that is going to need some decor.  I was a little worried when I saw the challenge was entitled "Spoof Movie Posters" because there is no other movie I hate more than stupid humor movies.  But, once I started getting into it and the more I let my mind run with it, I actually came up with some pretty good ideas.
When we were growing up we had a small dog named Cujo.  At the time, I had no idea why that was so ironic but now I realize how funny it actually was.  So, owning two fierce dogs, I thought a spoof on Cujo would be pretty funny.  The rules are (1) you can not use the real name and (2) it can be any movie ever made.  The contest ends next Monday and the results will be posted the following Thursday.  So here are my two choices (I think I am going with Bordeaux's picture).
